When we talk about mining, we often think of big farms in North America, China (at least before), or a few countries in Eastern Europe. But Africa? Very few people talk about it. And even fewer take the time to go.
That's what the ForMining Space team did.
Julien and Quentin spent 24 hours in the field, in Ethiopia, to film, meet, listen... and above all, to understand.
In this report, you go behind the scenes of active mining sites, far from overly theoretical speeches.
We discover the infrastructures, the local environment, the people who operate the machines... and the reality, sometimes demanding, of daily life on site.
It is not a demonstration video.
It is a authentic immersion, without filter.
Because there is over there energy. A lot.
And above all, clean energy: hydroelectric.
It is a resource that is still largely under-exploited, with real potential for the development of more sustainable mining.
Ethiopia may well become, in the years to come, a new strategic player in the global ecosystem.
This approach is not just a communication operation.
It is the reflection of a conviction: to understand a territory and invest sustainably in it, You have to go there, spend time, and talk with those who make it live.
Ethiopia is not a gamble.
It is A work of exploration, of encounter, of adjustment. And, perhaps, the start of something bigger.
